TOOFANIS

Indo - China War 1962. Burn the Toofanis! - a story from 1962.
How the Indian Air Force came close to destroying eight of its own Jet fighters during the 1962 war. The first ever attempted "Scorched Earth" order in history based on the recollections of Air Marshal Trilochan Singh.
It was the 19th of November 1962, with Indian forces in full retreat in the ongoing war. The Chinese were inside Indian territory and fast approaching Tezpur, with just the Brahmaputra crossing keeping them at bay. The chinese were literally at the foothills on the himalayas - and within 50 km from AFS Tezpur. If the chinese had managed to push their offensive and reached Tezpur, it would have had a catastrophic impact to morale. Tezpur town was a flurry of activity with formations moving out, and civilians in a panic.

CALLING-ON

THE FORGOTTEN ART OF CALLING ON
By Col Neil John, SM
Sitting at home on leave got me thinking about how many a time in our lives we just come to a point where you feel saturated ... devoid of ideas ... and in the process lethargic ... the resistance to change here becomes distinct to a point that our psyche breeds negativity and a thought process which is definitely not progressive .... it's easy to point out the reason for this feeling ... too much time in solitude and monotony ... especially in professions and appointments  that need you to be constantly on the move.

MATHAI'S "SHE" TRUTH

This article has a short but important history. It was written on June 23, 1977 by no less a person than M.O. Mathai. He was then Indian Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru's private secretary. Mathai was an intelligent and competent man from south India, a Catholic by religion like many south Indians, and quite courageous to have written the two well-known books: (1) Reminiscences of the Nehru Age, and, (2) My Days with Nehru, where he has, for the first time, divulged many secrets of the high and the mighty of the Nehru years.
However, the article that our readers are going to read, was not an ordinary article of a descriptive nature. It has many references to Mathai's personal interaction with one

MIRROR

TRUE MIRROR FOR INDIANS
By Dr. David Frawley, (American Institute of Vedic Studies, New Mexico, U..S.A.)
A defeatist tendency exists in the psyche of modern Indians perhaps unparalleled in any other country today. An inner conflict bordering on a civil war rages in the minds of the country's elite. The main effort of its cultural leaders appears to be to pull the country down or remake it in a foreign image, as if little Indian and certainly nothing Hindu was worthy of preserving or even reforming.

NAVAL-WIFE

*When Wife speaks husband must listen, But when a Fauji wife speaks World must listen.*

It was 35th NDA get together at NDA when Mrs Sangeeta, wife of Cdr Asheet Malik , 72 year, Veteran, spoke and what a speech it was ---👇
                  Hello Every One   ------->>
I am Sangeeta, wife of your course mate Asheet Malik.  I stand here having been requested to say a few words about my journey in the Navy by none other than the prime organizer of the 35th Course golden Jubilee get-together Sartaj Sassoon.  Thank you very much Sartaj for asking me to speak. And Dubby where are you? Raise your hand please.  I must ask you to explain the reason for your suggesting my name to Sartaj and calling up and insisting that I must speak. Thank You Dubby nevertheless.  It isn't easy to say no to you.

HINDUs

LETS BE HINDUS
A Hindu Swami to talk. A Hindu temple for its background. A crowded hall of a Hindu audience, and the subject for discussion. " Let Us Be Hindus." Strange! It sounds like a ridiculous paradox and a meaningless contradiction. I can very well see that you are surprised at the audacity of this sadhu (swami)!
It has become a new fashion with the educated Hindu to turn up his nose and sneer in contempt at the very mention of his religion in any discussion. Personally, I too belong in my sympathies to these critics of our religion. But when this thoughtless team begins to declare that we would benefit ourselves socially and nationally by running away from our sacred religion, I pause to reconsider my own stand.

FD-MARSHAL

*A DRINK WITH A FIELD MARSHAL.*
A Sam Bahadur story, penned by an unknown merchant banker, pulled out of the archives... ❤

Two and a half decades ago I was a merchant banker, a stint in my career which probably gave me some of my most memorable moments. But the cherry on top of that very motley cake was when I was asked to be present at the press and brokers' conferences to launch a certain company's maiden public issue. Not that these conferences were unusual, one was perpetually in and out of them those days: but this was out of the ordinary, for the Chairman of the host company would be present himself, and the worthy was no less than Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw.

DEEP-STATE

THE DEEP STATE IN THE MOD IS AGAINST MODI
(THE SERPENT IS UNDER THE CARPET)
                          By PG Kamath
Our PM and the countrymen must be made aware of the game being played by the bureaucracy that has grown to be a "committed bureaucracy", as committed to the dynasty as Indira Gandhi wanted it when she wanted a committed bureaucracy.

Since the time the NDA took over in mid-2014, I was wondering as to why the rightist government is framing policies against its own armed forces?  The volleys against the armed forces have been unabated.  There have been three RMs in four tenures and all of them were being played around by the bureaucrats in the MOD like the play dough in the hands of a pre-school child.
